Conversations is a series of talks and panel discussions as part of FestivalForGood 2020 on topics regarding the social enterprise sector, social impact, and doing good in Singapore. We hope to spread awareness about social enterprises and social issues in Singapore, as well as engage members of the public in meaningful discussions about how we can make Singapore a better place for all.

This conversation is organised as part of FestivalForGood 2020, Asia's largest celebration of Social Enterprises, and the social impact they created. Conversation 4: Building Communities with Purpose: Uplifting Women, Changing Lives

In many parts of Asia, including urban cities like Singapore, there are still women without access to education, healthcare and job opportunities. This creates a vicious cycle that prevents them from having sustainable livelihoods. Find out how some social entrepreneurs are empowering women to build a world, in which they can thrive.

Who Will Be Speaking?

Moderator: Claire Wong - Head, DBS Foundation
Claire is responsible for driving DBS Foundation’s commitment to champion social entrepreneurship for a better world. Prior to this role, she spent more than 15 years in the energy industry and in government policy. She started out in the Singapore Economic Development Board and moved into consulting for the energy sector. Most recently, she was an energy industry corporate banker at DBS bank. Claire is excited to be on this journey of supporting businesses that have long lasting and life changing social and environmental impact for the world we live. Claire has a BSc (Economics) from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an MPhil (Economics) from the University of Cambridge.
